Box Hill Institute, Centre for Learning
Building 8, Box Hill, Victoria
Client: Box Hill Institute
This new Centre for Learning creates a highly mobile series of spaces that reflect modern methods of education. Flexible learning spaces are connected to a ‘mall’ that creates a collaborative and social environment.
The project provided Box Hill Institute of TAFE with an opportunity to link both the Nelson Road and Elgar Road campuses. The building design assists the Institute in undergoing organisational and technological change to support modern educational philosophies. Sustainably, Building 8 uses good and simple architectural planning to create thermal and acoustic barrier zones and a highly insulated envelope for best comfort.
Unexpectedly rich ideas developed the project, solving the internal layouts and planning, while creating an architectural expression of difference.
