Why Spowers?

Spowers is a Melbourne based, award winning commercial architectural and interior design firm with a focus on sustainable design outcomes.

Since, 1895, Spowers has played a leading role in the planning and designing of buildings and infrastructure in Melbourne and Victoria. As the world has changed we have been quick to develop responses that meet new demands, standards and client expectation.

To ensure the optimum quality for both our company and clients we have achieved the third-party certified Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008 and Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2004. These management systems, policies and procedures are applied to all projects as well as in-house operations. Through thorough and integrated design processes we ensure a holistic approach to our clients’ needs, external environmental and economical considerations.

Our approach to all planning and design involves a functional analysis of the operational, organisational and physical requirements of the project. This requires the constructive and effective involvement of the client user groups, stakeholders and the entire design team in the planning, design and procurement process and consideration of the impact of design on capital and recurrent costs.

Thomastown Secondary College:

“Over the last few weeks I have been able to have regular access to our new building and watch it take shape. It is truly beautiful and although along the way I have regularly had to reach for my bulldog mask which lives in it’s box under the desk, we have been able to retain most of the beautiful architectural features and quality materials in your design. History has taught us to be grateful for any additional resources and the rebuild of the primary school has been a wonderful improvement to the learning environment in our community but it also serves as a constant reminder of what we would have, had we not been fortunate enough to work with you. For this we are extremely grateful.”

Leonie White, Principal Thomastown Secondary College

Marysville Community Centre:

“The project has involved extensive consultation with local community members and stakeholders including Murrindindi Council, Alexandra District Hospital, the Gallipoli Pal Management Committee and user groups. Given the circumstances surrounding the development of the Community Centre. Spowers has been required to go over and beyond what would normally be expected in working with local people and stakeholders to develop a design that responds to community needs.”
