Deakin University, Raymond Flexible Learning Space
Spowers and Deakin University are extremely proud to launch a new primary classroom facility, the Raymond Trotter Flexible Learning Space. Named after Raymond Trotter, a Department of Education and Early Childhood Development principal renowned for his innovative leadership and long association with Deakin University, this new facility is an interactive classroom especially designed for teaching pre-service primary and early childhood students. Students interested in Teaching (Primary) will be able to take advantage of the integrated audio-visual and information communication technologies, as well as a number of dedicated laptops for learning. The highly flexible classroom also takes into consideration the needs of the many disciplinary and interdisciplinary domains of learning. In addition, the space is is also equipped with a fully functional kitchen, wet play areas, and an irrigated landscape, as well as a research space for students and for the reflective practices of students and teaching staff alike. The inclusion of mounted hard drive cameras and recorders, portable MP3 recorders and handheld cameras ensure that this classroom will provide the very latest technology available in which to learn.
