Design Competition
This was an open invitation to architects and consultants (over 1,800 entries) from around the world to engage in a challenging act of creative design that stipulates a unique architecture for the long anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum.
It was Spowers intention to create a living museum which makes evident the cultural, social and historical significance of the collection across the full width of the global society.
The central premise was to provide a suitable climate to enjoy the exhibits and artefacts whilst eliminating any effects of degradation, preserving the artefacts for future generations.
