This new learning Hub features environmental design principles that are being used as educational tools for the students within the Trade School.

A fully collaborative approach was taken amongst all the consultants, the major suppliers and the Institute. This project will form the basis for future similar initiatives within the Box Hill campus.

Solar and wind energy, and appropriating monitoring and electronic equipment and devices, are used as part of the curriculum within the working classroom.

ESD Initiatives include a combination of solar energy and wind turbine generated power, collection of rainwater for toilet flushing and exposed fabric ductwork.

Spowers were engaged as the Principal Design Consultant for the new 10,000m² consolidation project. The project involves consolidating four existing campuses onto one site, to house 1100 students (7-12yrs) and 150 staff.

The project will be undertaken in stages and includes demolition of the existing buildings and a decantment strategy.
