Champions: the Australian Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, was set within Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne. It was home to such historical artefacts as Carbine’s skeleton, famous jockey paraphernalia, fashions through the ages, paintings, sculptures and cups.
The ground floor hosted the foyer and gift shop, permanent displays and ever-changing art works. Situated on the second floor was the central display area with interactive activities including simulation horse races, mini theatre and hands-on displays. The restaurant and function rooms were situated on the top floor to capture the views of the Yarra River.
